You can have encrypted disk on OpenBSD with softraid, but still it means they win because they will have enough time for later analysis. Sure protects fine against typical threat, but devil is hidden elsewhere. The rest is very well described by Tobias and one point missing - torture of you or your family so you will be much more then happy to provide keys for your system. It's not about technology (*BSD, Linux, ......). System itself is wrong (guess which one).
