Those links don't really tell how to create and format new partitions.
A better link would be:

However that does not fully answer the question either.  Instead I
have made the ``easy to add new partitions later'' instructions
more explicit.  I also added links to the man pages and smoothed
out the "No problem, problem solved" bit.
