The only stable API that OpenSSH provides is fork/exec (which is how
the likes of rsync and cvs use it).

Some folks have used OpenSSH's libssh.a that way, although it's not
supported (ie if it works for you, great, otherwise you're on your own).

If neither of these suits you then there are other implementations out
there that may be what you want.
