A T43 for the i386-laptop page...

Lenovo T43, "2668-F7G" or "UC3F7xx"

  - the Feb 15 snapshot 3.9-beta "just works".
  - halt -p works with base install, no config needed
  - X.Org 6.9.0 works without particular configuration tweaks
    (1400x1050), configured with ``X -configure'' and started with
    ``startx -- -depth 24''.
  - CardBus works (tested with CF adapter and card)
  - iwi(4) intel 2915 ABG works well, tested in several ``B'' and ``G''
    networks (firmware and AP config hints from
    http://damien.bergamini.free.fr/).
  - bge(4) Gig ethernet works, not tested much beyond initial
    installation.
  - aps(4) output is available in sysctl.
  - auich(4) sound works with base install and mplayer from packages.
  - Dual-booting with M$ Win XP Pro is straightforward, using NTLDR
    according to FAQ 4: Multibooting. I cheated and used Partition
    Magic from XP to carve out the OpenBSD primary partition (and a
    common FAT32 extended partition) from the original XP partition.

  - I'm "uncertain wether APM (SpeedStep) works" (sysctl(8) lacks
    hw.setperf, the dmesg identifies some "apm0 at bios0: Power
    Management spec V1.2" stuff anyway, BIOS settings at factory
    default of SpeedStep enabled.)
  - ExpressCard slot (upper card slot) not tested.
  - The system does not handle changes in removable (Ultrabay Slim)
    storage when halted and subsequently warm booted, that IDE channel
    is disabled instead. A cold restart is required for a new device to
    be detected, this really is no big deal.

The general feel of the T43 is very similar to a T42 I've borrowed
before buying this one, the perceived quality is far better than the
notebooks of various big-brand makes that I've been supplied with by
my previous employers. The lack of a Windows key is a very nice
feature.
