OpenBSD 3.9 -release works. * DMA problem with internal HD [Hitatchi Travelstar] and another internal HD [Seagate Momentus]. After lowering wd(4)'s flags everything work fine in OpenBSD. In Windows both HD:s sound strange (loud klicking). * Graphics card [S3 ProSavage DDR] works with X.org's "S3 Savage (generic)" at full resolution 1024x768x24. * halt -p works. * On-board ethernet card [VIA RhineII-2] works. * Sound card [AC97] works. * Hard to find any technical data on Acer's website. Better info at http://www.viaarena.com/. Start with the article "How to ID your chipset and motherboard". * Touchpad is slow, and tapping (klicking by tapping the touchpad) is always on. Rebooting from windows after setting up stuff don't help, maybe all touchpad settings is reset at startup and need a driver. * USB doesn't work well with ASUS CD-RW - min driver buffer fill always reports ca 20% (even at low speed in single-user mode) and CD-RW often hangs on "fixating...". * USB doesn't work with Microsoft Basic Optical Mouse - "uhub0: device problem, disabling port 1". http://troligen.se/aspire/dmesg.txt http://troligen.se/aspire/xorg.conf.txt PS: Sorry, I breaked my dmesg and xorg.conf links for Toshiba Tecra 520CDT. I will make new ones and put them in "troligen.se" too. Magnus Ehman [email protected] 2006-08-27
