Hi all, I have a new one for the laptop page: a compaq presario 700ea. It seems to work ok but xorg needs some configuration. Sounds works ok, even the volume buttons work as expected. I tried to insert a pcmcia NIC but that gives a: pcic_chip_socket_enable: status c pcic_wait_ready: ready never happened, status = 0c pccom3 at pcmcia0 function 0: can't allocate i/o space I am not sure if it is the NIC or the bus that is giving troubles. The onboard rl0 works fine though. It seems apm is not fully ok: $ apm Battery state: unknown, 0% remaining, 0 minutes life estimate A/C adapter state: connected Performance adjustment mode: manual (897 MHz) The ac adapter was not connected at that moment so this may look like a Intel laptop ;-) Sleeping etc doesn't work either. The dmesg and xorg.conf are located at: http://nedbsd.nl/~wijnand/laptop/ I hope this is enough information to add it to i386-laptop.html Wijnand
