Thanks for your prompt reply. I was wondering why I could install
OpenBSD 3.6 on SATA RAID array but 4.0.

May I know does OpenBSD 4.0 support Adaptec Serial ATA II RAID 1420SA
(Adaptec Serial ATA II RAID 2820SA, Serial ATA II RAID 2420SA)? How
about new version 4.1?

Support for that series of controllers was disabled because Adaptec
refused to provide documentation for their controller.  The driver was
not up to the level of quality that aim for with all our drivers, and
there was no way we could improve it.

You could say that Adaptec, by refusing to deal with us, ripped you
off.  I suggest you complain to them.
