my machine hangs on detection of usb ports and hubs, some irq-routing
issues, i have to retry with enabled acpi maybe...

i do not use any of the onboard sata controllers. i use a pci express
based areca raid controller.

anyway, thanks for the hint, maybe i need to disable the on-board
controllers too.
