Thank you Matthieu -- I should have said that I'd already gone
through the README, etc.  This is the first time in years I've had
problems building X.  I found that by bzip2ing the xenocara.tar
file I was able to move it in an hour so did that and things work
now.  I am guessing that I got CVS'd.
