Yes I did answer yes. I am thinking now it might be easier to reinstall OBSD and rather than installing the X packages given with the distribution download the source from ftp.x.org and compile it. Does that idea seem feasible? On another note, last night I read in the man page, I think for xinit, that one should create a link between one's xserver and a "alias" of sorts called "X" located in the home directory.
