configure with options

I'm very new to Darwinports and have installed Sylpheed 2.2.3. It works fine except that one of the configuration arguments is to "disable--ssl". How do I install this program with the argument change to "enable--ssl"? I know that Sylpheed support ssl as my installations on a Windows and a Linux platform have this feature.
