First off I would like to point out I don't offer a proper response to your question, I have no idea what MacPorts is doing differently to get PHP 5.1.5 building, I've not looked into the issue. But I couldn't help replying to a message that seems to "complain", contrary to most of the ones we get on this list, about why thinks *work* ;-) I don't know if you meant it as a compliment to the project, but it pretty much sounded like one to me! "Why does 'sudo port install php5' have no difficulty installing php 5.1.5"? I could easily reply "well, it *is* MacPorts ;-) what you expected?" I might even post that somewhere, hehehe. Thanks for "sweet" words ;-) -jmpp
