Thanks Mark. I appreciate your thoughtful comments.

I think I cordially and professionally answered Jordan's questions too. I
really appreciate his sharing the recommendations about UFS because it is
great to know now that I can avoid UFS when building ports (I am now going
to rebuild them on HFSX on the PowerPC Macs as well).

I really like Apple's computers and the Mac OS X OS has a lot to offer most
of the time but once in a while its important to have the ability to work
with other platforms. Mobility and choice is not only important but required
(as you said, no world domination -- we've lived with the Windows monopoly
for way too long!).
