Essentially, you just need to copy the files from the old MySQL data
directory to the new one, and stop the old MySQL process and restart
the new one. Additionally, you'll need to stop the Apple Apache w.
php module and startup the Darwinports Apache install w. php 5
extension.

For starters, how did you install your php5 port?

port install php5 +apache2 +mysql5

Will install the php5 port along with the module for Apache 2.x, and
support for MySQL 5.
