Emmanuel, Thanks for pointing out this bug. I am going to run a controlled experiment by removing Xcode 2.2.1 on the Intel Mac and re-installing my ports under Xcode 2.4 and we'll see what happens. Sometimes I think open source software compilation and dependency chains require too much testing and laboratory-like experimentation.
