I'm not familiar with those packages; it's been awhile since I've  
used Fink.

Applications that use FontConfig should be able to use Mac OS X  
fonts. See

/opt/local/etc/fonts/fonts.conf
/opt/local/etc/fonts/local.conf

In fact I thought the default versions of those files already set all  
that up.

Which MacPorts application are you using that is not able to see Mac  
OS X fonts?
