Okay, so what troubleshooting steps can I take when it doesn't work that
easily?
Is there anything I can do (besides poking through source code) to
troubleshoot this before I post here again?
If I do end up posting here about it again, what data should I gather/post?
The only information I've gathered so far is the output from startx and it
doesn't appear very informative.
