IPC in darwin

In what part of Darwin is the interprocess communications code? 

I'm looking into a problem that I think is in the IPC code and I'd like to be able to use ipcs and ipcrm. They don't appear to exist in Darwin, so I'd like to port them, but I need to see how IPC is implemented on darwin.
