What about other BSDs?

Hello all:

My first post will also most likely be my last thread (at least, until
it becomes an easier to install OS) ;-).

I'm looking to experiment with the OS on my YellowDogLinux 3.0.1 file
server (Beige G3/266 128 MB RAM 80 GB HD). At first I thought I'd just
install Darwin and use that as my server OS since, well, Darwin is
more-or-less OS X without the GUI and a few other services not vital
to a server. After having investigated the OpenDarwin site It seems
that neither OpenDarwin nor Darwin are suitable for my purposes (I'm
no *nix expert).

So, my question to you all is: is it worth experimenting with one of
the other BSD variants as a (predominately) server OS, or should I
stick with YDL 3.0.1 if it works for me?

I'm not a great fan of fiddling with my machine... now that YDL 3 is
working I'm moderately happy with it (although, I do need to change
partition sizes and eliminate the Mac OS X partition that has only
been booted natively _once_ and only a handfull of times under MOL
(128 MB doesn't leave much room)).
