Need info on installing X11 & UI on Darwin

Hi, I just installed Darwin 7.0.1 on a new 120GB hard drive I installed 
in my G5.  Goal is to setup this drive as a bootable opensource 
operating system with X11 and a UI like Window Maker.  I will later 
download opendarwin and use that as my core OS but for now, was only 
able to download Apple's Darwin as my Satellite connection only allows 
so much downloading before it cuts you off so I will try opendarwin 
later.

Anyway, my question is, can I create a complete bootable opensource 
Darwin based OS on my system?  I already installed Darwin and yes my G5 
boots up to the login screen fine and I can login as root and CD/ 
around the directories.  I also even launched the PING application in 
Darwin and it must of automatically saw my Internet connected as I did 
not have to setup and settings and I was able to ping www.yahoo.com.  
So, my guess is darwin is set at grabbing Internet and TCP via DHCP and 
that is why I can get on the Internet?

Anyway, what next.  I was hoping I could not download some Package 
Manager so I can more easily download and install the X11 and Window 
Maker apps so I can have a computer base to build onto.  Can this be 
done.  Does FINK or DarwinPorts allow direct install on a Darwin OS and 
then I run it to then download and install X11 and Window Maker?

If not, can I just reboot back into OS X, grab certain files, transfer 
them to my Darwin hard drive, then reboot in Darwin and install them 
somehow?  Any guidance would be great.

Is their a web site or FAQ that explains step by step on how to do this.
