You're quite severely mixing topics here. The Mac OS X Installer is not
part of Darwin, so it's featureset (or lack thereof) are not applicable.

No, a better solution would be to prototype suggested NetBSD build  
system
so that it can be usefully benchmarked and feature-tested. I'd be pretty
interested in this.
