Heya folks. I have put an html (xml?) doc on a server at http://www.inspectagadget.com.au/od/index.html It is a record of some of my experience with installing opendarwin as a UNIX/BSD/Linux novice. It is obviously not designed for anyone other than noobs, especially Windows noobs - a quick read will tell you that. My plan is that as I learn the document will fill out and as I (hopefully) try more stuff it will get longer. Apart from being an interesting way for me to record what I do and perhaps reinforce my learning it may help some others who feel a little lost. I tried to duplicate the example set by Ron Hayden, I probably screwed it but I tried. :] My experience is more with "down and dirty" html than xml. It does parallel certain areas of http://www.opendarwin.org/en/faq/ but hopefully in a different way and the intention is too pad it out too make it too easy. I admit when I first installed OD I saw I had to use an editor to change my com.apple.Boot.plist (which took about 5 minutes) but it took me about 3 hours to figure how to start an editor. I can see I made a few assumptions that I haven't fully checked. That might be revision 1.1 :]. Best Wishes, David Walker
