Post Setup Startup Issue (launchd)

First after installation (OpenDarwin 8), 3 files were missing and Darwin
dropped me into a shell
The files were :
/etc/group
/etc/master.passwd
/etc/shells

I copied these files from the private directory after mounting / since
the filesystem was in a Read-Only MODE

After this /etc/rc and some other files were shown missing which were
added. Finally after reboot I got the message that the below files were
missing and I didn't even got a shell so that I would edit the rc file
to avoid detection of other files, viz :


/var/cron/tabs
/etc/crontab
/var/spool/postfix/maildrop
/etc/xinetd.d
/var/log/CDIS.custom



SCPreferencesCommitChanges() failed: Configuration daemon session not
active

"/usr/sbin/configd"[nnnn]:  exited abnormally: Illegal instruction
"/usr/sbin/configd"[nnnn]:  exited abnormally: Bus error

launchd doesn't allow me to login. :(
