Just an update, as a test, I was able to get a GCE VM running using the default script you sent.  Here was the output:

Specify --start=2092 in the next get-serial-port-output invocation to get only the new output starting from here.

Now that I know it works, I will modify the script to build the server types I need and post those somewhere once done.
