what do I need to know to port plan 9

Hi, I've been interested in porting plan 9 to new platforms for a long time (platforms such as https://onion.io/omega2/, just to give an example) but I lacked the knowledge to do so. Recently I studied computer architecture from Harris & Harris (Digital Design and Computer Architecture) and basics of operating systems from Arpaci-Dusseau & Arpaci-Dusseau (Operating Systems: Three Easy Pieces). What else do I need to know to start venturing in porting plan 9? Thanks in advance, -- Hugo
