Is this mike on? OK, is there a better place to ask this -- or is this list dead? -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: Longer-term ROS plan? IIS-compatibility kind of stuff Date: Fri, 26 May 2017 16:14:44 -0400 From: fc <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Hello all: I am interested in replacing Windows 2003 server and hopefully Windows 2008 server (hell, And Windows 7) with ROS some day. I have seen these: http://reactos.org/wiki/Version_Status http://reactos.org/wiki/Testing_Central But 1. is there thinking/planning on how to replace, or use, things like Internet Information Server under ROS? 2. I see some net framework work; but is there a stated goal as to if and what versions of .NET will be supported? 3. Has this project drawn any sort of interest from Microsoft? 4. You Are being mindful to stay away from any of the Microsoft Telemetry stuff, yes? ... this telemetry stuff: "Recently Reddit user "sammiesdog" posted <https://www.reddit.com/r/cpp/comments/4ibauu/visual_studio_adding_telemetry_function_calls_to/> claims that Visual Studio's C++ compiler was automatically adding function calls to Microsoft's telemetry services. The screenshot <http://imgur.com/TiVrXyf> accompanying their post showed how a simple 5 line CPP file produced an assembly language file that included a function call titled |telemetry_main_invoke_trigger|. The ensuing discussion then revolved around how to disable this unannounced feature while also speculating its purpose. sammiesdog noted that this appears in release builds, while user ssylvan also indicated that it appeared in debug builds too. The telemetry function is intended to communicate with ETW. " Thank you! On 4/28/2017 5:14 AM, victor martinez wrote: > > Hi guys! > > We made it! > > But we need your help to be in the top 5!
