  Yes, but shortly after Red Hat dropped SPARC support, a distro called 
Aurora Linux[1] popped up, offering up SPARC rebuilds of Red Hat, and 
later, Fedora.  Aurora has been successful enough in its promotion of 
SPARC that the Fedora Project is currently working on making SPARC a 
second-tier supported architecture[2], with the work of all of the people 
from Aurora.
  Sadly, Aurora 3.0 looks like it'll probably be the last release to 
support sparc32 to any sane degree, due to the lack of a sparc32 kernel 
maintainer, and lots and lots of bugs.  It's been an uphill battle the 
last couple of years; I give mad props to Dave Miller (davem), Tom 
Callaway (spot), and Peter Jones (pjones) for taking on the bugs as long 
as they have.
  At least we'll still have sparcv9.
