Sol 10 5/08 64bit on Ultra 10

I cant get it to boot with all sorts of SMF errors which just hang the
system. I did an 'upgrade' install (what a convoluted process that is)
from Solaris 10 original release. I did this because I couldnt get
smpatch to upgrade it because its not a system on maintenance so the
official process appears to be to do a major release 'upgrade'
install. Its a factory Sun Ultra 10 333 with 1GB Ram and a 120GB IBM
Deskstar which has been perfectly fine and boots Single user just fine
too.

Anyone else tried this - Its supposed to be a supported system and I'd
just like to play with it.

I think I should try to stick with Solaris because I have a SunPCI
card and a QFE and want those to work in my world just because I do.

Perhaps I should toss the SunPCI and just give up and load FreeBSD?
Should I wait for the 10/08 release next month?

I cant begin to figure out why Sun would stop smpatch from working and
thus alienate people into ditching Solaris...
