I'd suggest hooking up serial console (ttya, 9600/8/N/1) and seeing if
you're getting any messages there.  If the ROMs don't recognize the TGX
as a valid console they will probably fall back to serial console.

There is some minor chance you can use serial console with the ROMs and
count on the OS to talk to the TGX.  (I say "minor" chance because at
least some OSes will not notice an SBus card that doesn't have a node
in the OBP device tree - you'd need to do some kernel jiggery-pokery in
that case, probably meaning you'd need source to your kernel and the
expertise to hack on it.)
