While we are on the topic, can you *believe* how impolite it is that women are wearing pants. In *public*! When I was socialized to proper society, a woman wearing pants would result in a flame war against anyone so rude. The very idea! And they actually *vote* now. Don't get me started on those Horseless Carriages; I mean, why would anyone who knows what they are doing want to get into one of those noisy, smell thing. I mean, all you need is to get from point A to point B with as little overhead as possible. Cars are a complete waste of resources and obviously, that's broken and to be railed against whenever the subject comes up. Besides, it scares my horse. And men not wearing a hat outdoors! Anyone that would do that must be a newbie, and completely ignorant of the Only One True Way to behave. Why, if I had to actually talk to a homme sans un chapeau, I would carry an additional hat with me and hold it out before me in such a way that it appeared he was wearing a hat before I could lower myself to talk to him. And I would, of course, have to be condescending. I got "socialized" to email in, dunno, 86-87 or so. Things have changed. More than once. Will again. When a couple of hundred million people sending a few billion email messages a day have collectively decided that they don't care about top- versus bottom-posting, *they* aren't the ones who are "wrong", "broken", "impolite" or any other slur you want to conjure up.
