LCDs and old Sun h/w (was: framebuffer refresh)

I have a Samsung 205BW and it doesn't work with my Classic (confirmed 
last night).

I brought up this topic on the list a couple of years ago.  It wasn't 
long before I passed my Voyager on to Ian.

In that discussion, Jochen said that there was more than one kind of 
13W3-to-VGA cable.  Specifically, he said:
