I did not ask the precise question that I wanted answered. Could someone please explain to me what I need to check on my 13W3-to-VGA adapter so that I can identify whether it should work with Sun framebuffers? Neither it nor the packaging that it came in indicates Sun/SGI/whatever. Not that it matters much now. I have ordered a NOS Sun-branded 13W3-to-VGA adapter. It should be the right one for Sun h/w. alan
