have an interesting story about another copier/printer firm. Oc=E9 was =

using Sparc 5's as printengine for their 9100 and 9200 line of printers =

(1990-era machines).
A complete Sparc 5 (70 Mhz at start, 110 later) was gutted, a special =

casing was made that received the innards, they had their own sbus card =

that did the interfacing to the laser and offered it with Suns disk and =

memory options. If you had the money and the style, you'd even be =

offered a keyboard and the 15" monitor.
That's where I got my Sparc 5 from. Sometimes the printers would just be =

scrapped, which meant everything was scrapped. Went over to the assembly =

line to get a original case and all the cables.

Oc=E9 had also been rebadging Sun3's before that. We had some of them at =

college.

They also had a software package to control a whole printfarm. You could =

move printjobs around different machines according to their =

capabilities, change paper options etc. That usually ran on a Classic.
