Some 34 hours ago, I sent mail to the list about a SS20 whose case I
wanted to glue back together.

Someone asked me, offlist, for pictures. I thought for a bit I had no
camera available to take pictures with (I'm partway through a move),
but then realized I had a video camera which I had software support
for. So I threw together software to extract stills from the resulting
video files, and now I have some pictures for y'all. They're not
ideal, in part because they _are_ stills from a video, but they should
give some idea.

See ftp.rodents-montreal.org in /mouse/misc/broken-ss20-case/.

damage-1.jpg and damage-2.jpg are two views of the damaged corner of
the case. (This is after bending the metal part back into place; the
metal part in question is visible in the lower right of these.)

pieces.jpg is a view of the resulting loose pieces of plastic.

tab.jpg is a close-up view of the smallest of those pieces; I believe
it is one of the three tabs that normally hook into the front of the
chassis to hold the front of the case on. (It's not the first time one
of those tabs has broken off one of my cases, and this case top now has
none of them left.)

inplace-a.jpg, inplace-ab.jpg, and inplace-abc.jpg are three views of
the damage with the pieces successively placed in position (but not
held in by anything in particular, except for piece c, which I was
holding in by hand). So there really is very little plastic missing.

There is no explicit scale indication, and it shows only the corner of
the case. But all pictures are approximately the same scale, except
for tab.jpg (which is a closeup); you can get some idea of what scale
this is from my hand in inplace-abc.jpg and from the metal grounding
fingers visible in four of the other pictures, which you can also find
on the underside of the top from any SS20 (or, I think, any pizza-box
SPARC) case.
