How to correct SerialNumber in prtdiag?

I was updating STB on one of my servers today and sneep reported that one of
its datasources is incorrect.  Lo and behold, prtdiag thinks the
ChassisSerialNumber is NULL.  The eeprom is correct, the Explorer config file
is correct, and the sneep backup in /etc/default is correct.  Since 3 of the 4
datasources are correct,  sneep definitely reports the correct serial number.
But is there a way to fix what prtdiag thinks is the SN?  I have not found a
way as yet...
