SunFire V100 Console Port Access

               I have a SunFire V100 and I need to connect to the console port. I built the adaptor described in the bSunFire V100 Server Userbs Guideb (p.23), connected it to the LOM A port with a straight through Ethernet patch cable, plugged it into my PC, set the serial parameters to 9600,8,none,1,no flow control and all I get is garbage, e.g.:

The SunFire is still working but it is refusing SSH connections so it is only a matter of time till something else goes wrong and I canbt get into it.

 

Have I done something wrong? Is the console port broken or misconfigured?
