Max password length in Solaris 8 (local account)

HI all,

I tried searching in the archives but I could not find the answer.
What is the supported max. password length in Solaris 8 for local
accounts? Does Solaris 8 natively support MD5 or alike that could
extend the max. password length beyond 8 characters? Thank you, any
