HP jetdirect/hppi software on recent systems error

Hi Sunmanagers,

Trying to get the ancient hppi Jetdirect print software from HP working on a
T2000 running Solaris 10,  and am getting this error when calling 'hppi'

ERROR: machine architecture  unknown, cannot continue

I have it working on another T2000 - also Solaris 10 - with no issue.

The only difference between the 2 systems is that the firmware on this
particular model has been upgraded because of the changes to the kernel that
required new system firmware on sun4v systems. I'm still slogging through
truss output, the script and various other components to see if I can find out
exactly what it's looking for, but while I do that, I thought I'd toss this
out as a question in case someone else has run across this issue.

(And yes, I know this software is old and unsupported - but we haven't really
had the manpower to work out replacing it. Maybe I guess that time has
come??)
