It wasn't clear in my initial posting, but I don't have access to the ALOM either. I can't seem to reset the ALOM to factory defaults or reset the admin account password. -- Bob -----Original Message----- From: Frank Huang [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, November 08, 2012 11:09 AM To: VERGEER, BOB H. Subject: RE: V240 Console Have you tried enter "break" in ALOM? Frank Huang -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of VERGEER, BOB H. Sent: Thursday, November 08, 2012 11:01 AM To: [email protected] Subject: V240 Console I have two V240s that I cannot get a console on. Things I have tried: 1) Remove the 3v battery, hoping to reset the ALOM. Then use the default, admin/SN password. No luck. 2) Remove the video card trying to force console to Serial Mgt Port. No luck. 3) Press esc during ALOM boot, but ALOM menu does not have a admin account reset option. When I hook up to the Serial Mgt Port and just let the ALOM login time out it moves on to the "Enter #. to return to ALOM" but no matter what I do after that I cannot get the ok prompt and neither system has auto-boot set to true. The systems had KVM cables attached to the video cards but I don't have a KVM to test that with. Hooking up a standard Monitor and USB keyboard does not produce anything. Why does SUN make this so difficult? There has to be a way to force these systems to reset, what am I missing?
