Problem booting Alpha 8200

Hello Admin Wizards,

i managed to reassemble my old alpha 8200 and made it start up to the 
srm console.
Obviously, the system is trying to poll some controllers that have been 
already removed; i can stop this pollig process by CTRL-C.
But when I try to start ARC (to configure the raid controllers), the 
following error pops up:

P08 >>> arc
P08 >>> ARC trailer error offset = ffffffff id = ffffffff

Hm. Anyone a suggestion for that case?
