NIS domains general question

I recently disassembled a NIS domain involving two Tru64 servers, and
took the older one out of service. Now I'd like to build a new NIS
domain connecting the remaining Tru64 server (which was the Master in
the old NIS domain) to a Linux box. I'm not sure which to make the
Master and which the Slave. Does anybody have any
recommendations? I notice that Linux has no rcmgr and no
/etc/rc.config.common which makes following some of the instructions
in nis_manual_setup a little difficult.

All answers much appreciated
