MSA1000 & DS20

Dear all,

We'd like to connect to an MSA1000 storage to an
AlphaServer DS20 (not DS20E). The QuickSpecs sais
only DS20E is supported. I wonder what the technical
explanation of this fact is, and, since there is
a difference between a _supported_ and a _working_
configuration, if we could still connect the
MSA1000 to a DS20 and use the disks. (In an OpenVMS
configuration, but it's irrelevant regarding the
question.)

Any experiences or explanations?
