ES40 CONFIGURING RAID no Control with SMOR

Here I am again ... attempting to configure hardware.
ES40   KZPCC-CE controller

I added 4 new 18G drives to a system in order to increase a RAID5.  I added the drives while the system was still running, downed the system, started SMOR, I could see the new drives.  I deleted the existing RAID5 and deleted one hotspare.  When it came up the first time I could still see the RAID5. I did a Set System Config, brought the system down.  Restarted SMOR.  I had to do this twice before SMOR would actually start.

Now the Main Menu is open but I do not have any control.  Nothing is showing up on the SmartRom Configuration window.  I cannot use the alt keys to access any of the menu options.
6 of the drives halt the RED fault light on and the others are not lit at all.

I cannot tell what the system is doing.... if anything....
Any help would be greatly appreciated on this Friday evening.
