SDLT external tape drive connection

I have SCSI attached HP StorageWroks external SDLT 320 tape drive to the DS20.  It is not terminated, but I don't think needs to be.  it's pluged into the top port on the drive to the server.  I run hwmgr sc sc.  I do not see the tape drive in hwmgr v d, v sc, or scu show edt after a scan edt.

Am I missing somehting?  Do I need to install HW deliv kit or edit ddr.dbase or something?
