DS20e Environmental Card

In the process of troubleshooting hardware problems with an SA5304 RAID array, 
we found that a SCSI cable that connects the array needs to be replaced.

This cable also connects to an Environmental Card.

If we have further problems, we would like to swap this card out, as well.

The documentation that I have found is inconsistent as to what this card 
controls.  Some information suggests that it controls and/or contains the boot 
process and drive information in addition to controls for the environment 
(power, fans, temp, etc) of the unit.  Other information only refers to the 
environment.

What, specifically does this card do and are there any settings that need to be 
configured or adjusted should this card be replaced?
