Bobby,
Furcraea are indeed very pretty. They are not generally very cold hardy,
and even in Kerrville would probably have a hard time out of containers.
They do die when they bloom, their blooms are astounding, huge branched
panicles high above the plant, even if the plant is 12 feet tall as in
the arborescent species. And, no none of them are native to Texas, they
all come from Mexico and the Caribbean.
