I actually knew a Hanks, who was a descendent of Nancy, but she was a regular person, this just happened to come up in a conversation about HISTORY. My own pedigree is so sparse, I could not be registered by the Patterdale Terrier Club Of America. Yes, I do not have enough ancestors to be registered as a dog! my great grandfather, being the farthest back I can go, was a horse vet in the army of Czar Nicholas 2nd. this was not an exalted position. having such a job kept a person from the front lines, I was told. It is possible that I am the most famous person in my known family, and you can see how unspeakably big a deal THAT is. There were deliberate destructions of my family history since it involved marriages with Gypsies and some kind of Hungarian which the rest of the family held to be tribally substandard. Our mother called them "Red Dogs". No idea why. Roger has actual ancestors who were painted by Gainsborough, after whom towns in Massachusetts were named. He could not care less.
