The original plant came as an import from Kenya in the 70's I have some old note books I will have to look through them. It is not Pearsonii or stuckii schweinfurthii rings a bell in the back of my mind.
Here is a better picture.

Hi Stan, I don't think its pearsonii or stuckii, but am unsure myself. John, you said it has round leaves with no channel which leaves out many possibilities. If a species, I was thinking of cylindrica v. patula, myself. Maybe its a hybrid?

It may be neither one. the quality of the picture does not allow to see important details, e.g. the pattern on the leaves (if there is any). If there is no pattern, it may be Sans. erytraeae (formerly Sans.
schweinfurthii).

Lost the label on this one. I should know it but cannot remember the name. The leaves are cylindrical no channel very dark green
smooth glossy the leaves arch over and touch the ground. Leaf tip is hard sharp.
