The author of the Historia Stirpium, Leonhart Fuchs (1501-1566), is 
known as the 3rd of the German fathers of Botany, after Otto Brunfels 
& Jerome Bock. Fuchs work was inspired by the Herbarum vivae icones 
(1530-6) of Brunfels. Fuchs' herbal, however, was conceived on a 
larger scale than the books of his immediate predecessors. His goal 
was to reproduce each plant from life, as he stated in his dedication 
"a picture expresses things more surely & fixes them more deeply in 
the mind than the bare words of the text...we have not allowed the 
craftsmen so to indulge their whims as to cause the drawing not to 
correspond accurately to the truth."

of Love in the Garden of the Villa Medici

Louis de Caullery (Dutch-Flemish artist, 1555-1622) also known as 
Luis de Koller, Luis de Kaulleri, Louis de Coulery, specialized in 
genre, allegory, architecture, & landscape painting.  Like many 
Flemish artists of the period, he had traveled to & worked in Italy. 
A circle of like-minded artists gathered around him in Antwerp, 
painting scenes of banquets, balls, carnivals, & other celebrations. 
These scenes are often set in panoramic landscapes filled with 
numerous figures engaged in a variety of activities.  The 
architecture & the parterres of the gardens are precisely drawn, 
often in skillfully telescoped perspective.

Who painted this?  When?  What does the painting depict?  Cannot find

Perhaps 1930s.  Perhaps 300 years earlier.  I am guessing 1930s.  It 
seems to have elements that look right for a 16-17C date & elements 
that say pastiche.  Perhaps the garden looks too cartoon-like.
