That's right, cars are a historical flash in the pan. We can take two 
courses with regards to the coming end of the oil age:

1.) rely on technological fix: hydrogen cars and nuclear power
2.) redesign and reconstruction of our environments to allow for pedestrian 
access to essential goods and services and the relocalization of production 
of such...

My guess is that most on this list favor option 2.

Now, how do we reach and convince those who favor option 1 or an even larger 
number of people who are unaware of the historical significance of the end 
of the oil/automobile fluke?
